Samira Izadi is currently filming a recurring role on Showtime's highly anticipated series, Kidding, opposite Jim Carrey, Frank Langella and Catherine Keener. She can also be seen opposite David Boreanaz in a powerful Top of Show Guest Star on CBS's SEAL Team and in another role on NBC's The Brave. Prior to that, Samira filmed Saint Judy starring Michelle Monaghan, Common and Alfre Woodard (which is due out later this year) and another film entitled American opposite George Takei.
Born in Shiraz at the height of the Iranian Revolution, Samira's parents relocated to Los Angeles shortly thereafter, where she was raised with an emphasis on education. While she was involved in theatre early in life, Samira enjoyed the intellectual rigor of math and physics. She attended University of Southern California, where she received her Bachelor’s Degree, with Honors (Eta Kappa Nu - National E.E. Honor Society) in Electrical Engineering.
Switching gears to pursue her first love, Samira has trained with Ivan Markota (Bryan Cranston's longtime acting coach), Larry Moss and Amy Lyndon; and has studied improv at the Upright Citizens Brigade and The Groundlings.
Samira is fluent in both English and Persian/Farsi, conversational in Spanish, and familiar with Arabic and Pashto.
