Samira Izadi can currently be seen recurring as “Rubina Haider” on CBS’s S.W.A.T. opposite Shemar Moore and “Shelly Pinsker” on Showtime's Kidding opposite Jim Carrey, Frank Langella and Catherine Keener. She can also be seen opposite David Boreanaz in a powerful Top of Show Guest Star on CBS's SEAL Team and on CBS’s MacGyver directed by Peter Weller airing this fall. Prior to that, Samira filmed Saint Judy starring Michelle Monaghan, Common and Alfre Woodard (which premiered at the 2018 Los Angeles Film Festival) and another film entitled American opposite George Takei.
Born in Shiraz at the height of the Iranian Revolution, Samira's parents relocated to Los Angeles shortly thereafter, where she was raised with an emphasis on education. While she was involved in theatre early in life, Samira enjoyed the intellectual rigor of math and physics. She attended University of Southern California, where she received her Bachelor’s Degree, with Honors (Eta Kappa Nu - National E.E. Honor Society) in Electrical Engineering and shortly thereafter UCLA Anderson’s MBA program.
Switching gears to pursue her first love, Samira has trained with Ivan Markota (Bryan Cranston's longtime acting coach), Larry Moss and Amy Lyndon; and has studied improv at the Upright Citizens Brigade and The Groundlings.
Samira is fluent in both English and Persian/Farsi, conversational in Spanish, and familiar with Arabic and Pashto.
